Manchester United managerial target Ruben Amorim said on Thursday no decision on his future will be made until his club Sporting Lisbon play on Friday.
Amorim confirmed in a press conference that United and Sporting were in talks about him moving to the ailing Premier League giants following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, but said details still had to be worked out.
“It’s a negotiation between two clubs, it’s never easy, even with the clauses, it’s never easy,” 39-year-old Amorim told a press conference.
“They have to talk. And we’ll have clarification after the game. It will be very clear. So it’s one more day after the game tomorrow, we’ll have the decision made.”
Sporting Lisbon face Estrela in a Portuguese league match on Friday evening.
United have already indicated interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will undertake media duties for the Premier League game against Chelsea on Sunday, suggesting he will be in charge.
