LOS ANGELES, March 16 (UPI) — Actor Jon Voight released a video commenting on the United States’ relations with Israel, saying President Obama is not on its side.
The video, which was posted on the Just Jared website, showed the Deliverance actor giving his opinion on how the president handled the Iran deal and relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I love Israel. I want to see Israel survive and not be overtaken by the mad men of this world,” said Voight. “President Obama does not love Israel. His whole agenda is to control Israel. In this way, he can be friends with all of Israel’s enemies. He doesn’t want [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Bibi Netanyahu to win this upcoming election. America has not been the same since his presidency. I beg all of you to understand the truth.”
Netanyahu caused a controversy for himself and the Republican party after House Speaker John Boehner’s, R-Ohio, invited him to speak at a joint session of Congress without coordinating with the White House. Netanyahu encouraged members to impose new sanctions on Iran and to dismiss any negotiations to reduce Iran’s nuclear program.
Members of the Democratic party and the administration called the “stunt” destructive to relations with the country and an “arrogant” move by Netanyahu.
The actor, known for his conservative views, gas repeatedly criticized the president and the Democratic party, saying they are a “very negative force.”
