NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) — Former NFL kicker Jay Feely didn’t pull any punches when he called new Eagles player Tim Tebow “the single worst quarterback in the NFL.”
When it was announced Chip Kelly was signing Tebow as the the fourth quarterback, it was seen by many as his last hope in the NFL. He was bumped from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets and was dropped by the New England Patriots in 2013 before the season even started.
Feely, who played for the Falcons, Giants, Dolphins, Chiefs, Jets, Cardinals and Bears during his 14-year career in the league, gave a reason for Tebow’s team hopping during an appearance on SHOWTIME.
“He was the single worst quarterback I ever saw in my career in the NFL,” Feely bluntly stated.
Feely tried to pad the comment, saying he respected him as a person.
“I really respect the person, the man, the things that he believes in, the things he does off the field,” he said.
