March 11 (UPI) — Former Clemson Tigers star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Topps announced an exclusive deal to manufacture a 50-card box set that will release in April.

Print runs and pricing haven’t been announced yet. The series, which will consist of 50 trading cards, is expected to sell for less than $100 per 20-card packs.

Topps will create 30 of the cards based on previous designs, while Lawrence’s brother, Chase, and sister-in-law, Brooke, who are professional artists, will make the other 20 designs.

“I’m excited to be working with Topps on this really unique set,” Lawrence told ESPN on Thursday. “Chase and Brooke are extremely talented artists, and it’s special to collaborate with them on these custom designs.”

The market for sports trading cards, especially rookie cards, has increased over the last year. The demand for Lawrence’s exclusive set is expected to be very high.

“There are so many things that make Trevor unique, including his incredibly talented family, and Topps was the right partner to bring that to life,” said Alan Zucker, Excel Sports Management partner and Lawrence’s marketing agent. “This one-of-a-kind collection offers fans a piece of memorabilia they won’t be able to get anywhere else.”

The 50-card set will include a combination of oil paintings, digital depictions and autographs. However, the cards won’t have any Clemson or NFL logos; competitor Panini has held exclusive NFL and NFL Players Association physical cards rights since 2016.

The exact date of the launch is still unknown, but Topps said it will be sometime in April. The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled to happen April 29.

Lawrence, the projected No. 1 overall pick in next month’s draft, is the winningest quarterback in Clemson history.
