PARIS, Dec. 6 (UPI) — The Irish rock band U2 has debunked rumors claiming Eagles of Death Metal will make an appearance at its show in Paris Sunday night.
“We’re back in Paris and it’s great to be here,” U2 said in a statement.
“Some people have been saying that Eagles of Death Metal will appear on stage with U2 tonight. This is not the case. We have another surprise guest planned for tonight’s show.”
Eagles of Death Metal was the California music group playing at Paris’ Le Bataclan club Nov. 13 when ISIS-linked terrorists wearing suicide vests opened fire at concertgoers, killing 89. The musicians escaped, but the British man in charge of the band’s merchandising died at the scene.
Dozens of other people were also killed by terrorists throughout the city as part of the coordinated attacks.
