Dallas Mavericks star guard Luka Doncic will miss at least four NBA games while sidelined for at least a week with a right wrist sprain, the team announced on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Slovenian playmaker, last season’s NBA scoring leader, suffered the injury in the Mavericks’ 132-91 victory over New Orleans on Tuesday.
Doncic scored a game-high 26 points and went 10-for-16 from the floor in that contest, which marked his return after missing last Sunday’s victory over Oklahoma City with a knee injury.
Doncic will be re-evaluated in one week, missing games Friday at Denver, Sunday at Miami, Monday in Atlanta and at home against New York on Wednesday.
So far this season, Doncic is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists a game for the Mavs.
At 8-7, Dallas is 11th in the Western Conference, trailing 10th-place Sacramento on tie-breakers.
