CHARLOTTE HALL, Md., Dec. 1 (UPI) — A thrifty beaver was found and captured after sifting through the aisles of a local dollar store in Maryland.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of the mischievous beaver as it wreaked havoc throughout the store.

“Cpl. Yingling had a unique call for service when the suspect, pictured, was witnessed causing [property] destruction at a store in Charlotte Hall,” the sheriff’s office said.

No serious damage was caused to the store despite several items being knocked down from shelves.

The sheriff’s department reported the beaver was safely rescued by animal control officers and released to a wildlife rehabilitator.
