MIAMI, May 4 (UPI) — Anthony Bourdain recently had the opportunity to spend time with his “hero,” Iggy Pop.
The 58-year-old television personality hung out with the 68-year-old rocker while filming in Miami for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Bourdain admitted to being “intimidated,” “anxious” and “starstruck” by the singer in a CNN article published ahead of Sunday’s episode.
“It was a dream come true to actually hang out with my hero and (for better or worse) early role model,” he wrote. “Iggy, like so many Miamians, came here to live after having lived a previous life — or in Iggy’s case, many previous lives.”
“Miami has always been both refuge and reward for people from somewhere else, lured by a long standing dream, the promise of some kind of peace of mind on a beach,” he mused. “So, this week, on Parts Unknown, we look at both the origins of Miami, the old school and the dream of Miami.”
Bourdain came to fame as a chef and is a published author and television personality. He previously hosted Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and The Layover on the Travel Channel, and returned for a fifth season of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN last week.
