NEW YORK (AP) — Adam McKay will write and direct a film about Dick Cheney for Paramount Pictures.

A representative for Paramount confirmed Tuesday that McKay has written a script about the former vice president and hopes to begin shooting this spring. The project was first reported by Deadline.

The untitled film will be produced by McKay and his Gary Sanchez partners, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick, along with Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. The same team backed McKay’s Oscar-winning Michael Lewis adaption “The Big Short.”

McKay and Ferrell previously collaborated on a Broadway show about Cheney’s commander in chief in “You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush.” McKay’s Cheney film, though, takes a more dramatic approach to a central figure from the Bush administration.
