April 3 (UPI) — A 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe once owned by Donald Trump sold at an event in Florida for $270,000, the Auctions America group said.
Trump sold the red vehicle in 2011 with fewer than 2,400 miles. The unidentified buyer’s purchase is a record as the $270,000 price tag is the most a Ferrari F430 Coupe with an automatic transmission has ever sold for at auction.
“Similar versions of the model without the celebrity provenance traditionally bring between $125,000 and $175,000 depending on mileage, condition and optional equipment,” Auctions America said in a statement.
The Ferrari, which, during the Fort Lauderdale auction on Saturday had about 6,000 miles, comes with the original title deed signed by Trump. Auctions America said it expected the vehicle to sell between $250,000 and $350,000.
The Ferrari did not sell when it was on the auction block, as the top bid of $245,000 fell short of the reserve price and the minimum bid required for sale. Auctions America said the vehicle sold “just minutes after it left the podium.”
“Already a low production vehicle, its provenance is significantly increased by President Trump’s ownership. To see a former or current president’s personal vehicle offered for sale is extremely rare,” Auctions America said in a statement.
