Rio de Janeiro officials lost the keys to the Olympic Stadium days before the opening ceremony Friday.

The locks to the park had to be cut by bolt cutters in order for workers to gain access.

The embarrassing incident is the latest in a string of bad publicity for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, which have been plagued by barely-inhabitable Olympic Village conditions, the threat of a jihadist attack, and human excrement and other waste being found in the water where the athletes will be competing – the Rio Olympics has been plagued with disaster.

According to Yahoo Sports, “Rio officials lost the keys to Olympic Stadium [Wednesday]. This left organizers unable to access the mixed area of the venue.”

Desperate times calls for desperate measures as workers had to come in and use bolt cutters to get into the stadium. In a city with more than six million people, a locksmith was apparently difficult to find.

Thirteen men, including one minor, have been arrested so far after pledging allegiance to the Islamic State over an encrypted communications application and plotting to attack Olympic venues.
