The hacker, or group of hackers, known as “Guccifer 2.0” has released another trove of documents allegedly swiped from the Democratic National Committee’s computers. Among the documents in the new release is a set of notes addressing “wobbly Democrats” who were not fully on board with President Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal.

The new collection of documents was sent exclusively to The Hillwhich describes notes that appear to be from a conference call with a political consulting firm called Democratic Partners, dated March 26, 2015:

The call centers around five issues — the budget, immigration, gun violence, partisan stalling of the attorney general nomination and the Iran nuclear framework, which would be announced a week later.

Notes on the Iran deal describe the then upcoming announcement as a “good deal to protect national security” but notes that “wobbly [D]emocrats want to scratch this thing.”

“Wobbly Dems — booker, Casey, warner, peters, man chin and gillibrand — cold run up the score on Menendez bill and could torpedo this,” the notes read, likely referring to Sens. Cory Booker (N.J.), Bob Casey (Pa.), Mark Warner (Va.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.) and Kristen Gillibrand (N.Y.) and a pending sanctions bill co-written by Bob Menendez (N.J.).

Notes on immigration point out that no one would “mov[e] anything in this Congress” and mention an upcoming report that this was “the most anti-immigrant congress.” The immigration section also includes the lines “People are confused back home” followed by “Chicago Mayor’s race is taking a lot of our efforts right now,” suggesting that Democracy Strategies Chicago office was included on the call.

Other notes push pro forma strategies hitting Republicans on a budget that “gut[ted] Medicaid,” gun control and the stalled confirmation of the attorney general despite then-Attorney General Eric Holder’s plan to step down two weeks after the Democracy Strategies call.

There are also files of Democratic donor information, “including entertainment figures, such as David Geffen, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Judd Apatow; various major business figures, such as the chief executives of Taskrabbit, 23andMe, J. Crew and Oracle; and others, including Magic Johnson, Norman Lear and Stanford’s University’s dean of public health.”

Another report from The Hill notes that this donor file includes names, addresses, and phone numbers for the donors, along with their preferred nickname, such as “Gore” for director Gregor “Gore” Verbinski of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, and “JJ” for director Jeffery “JJ” Abrams of the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises.

The donors from California are not just Hollywood celebrities, but also business heavyweights like “Elon Musk; the CEOs of Qualcomm, the Starz Network, Disney and Fox Film; and high-ranking executives at Google, Fox, ABC, Herbalife and Warner Brothers.”

A strategy document released by Guccifer 2.0 includes advice for political operatives on “how to legally solicit money for pro-Clinton super-PACs,” which included an interesting suggestion that Hillary Clinton had not firmly decided to run for president as of March 24, 2015.

The Observer cites this memo as “just one of several documents released by Guccifer 2.0 proving the Democratic National Committee rigged the system for Clinton,” on the grounds that DNC operatives were treating her as the nominee in strategy memos before the primaries even began.

Furthermore, the Observer suggests the Guccifer 2.0 data dumps are receiving limited media coverage because “many of the documents implicate mainstream media outlets in their complacency to adhere to the DNC’s strategy.”
