Report: ‘Top Secret’ Emails on Hillary Clinton’s Server Put Lives at Risk

The “top secret” emails found on Hillary Clinton’s private server contained “operational intelligence” that, if revealed, could have put lives at risk.

An unnamed government official tells Fox News’ Catherine Herridge the information put “sources, methods and lives,” in jeopardy. The source was referring to the contents of 22 emails which the State Department said last week it could not release even in redacted form because the information was too sensitive.

The Clinton campaign continues to claim none of the material was “marked” classified at the time it was sent or received, but the nondisclosure agreement Clinton signed as Secretary of State makes clear that “classified information is marked or unmarked classified.”

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos Sunday, Clinton suggested identifying material she was sent as classified was the responsibility of “someone down the chain.” However, each individual with a security clearance is expected to recognize and report any spillage of classified information.

Clinton also claimed Sunday the “top secret” emails found on her server was part of an inter-agency dispute between the State Department and the Intelligence Community. In fact, news reports suggest the classification of at least two “top secret” emails found on her server is a “settled matter” after the Director of National Intelligence sided with the Intelligence Community over the State Department’s objections.

According to Herridge’s report Monday, the 22 “top secret” emails recently identified on Clinton’s server did not all come from one email thread. Herridge’s goverment source says they cover the entire span of her tenure as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013.
