Democrat Rep. Susan Davis of California says she is undecided on the Iran deal.
Davis Press Secretary Aaron Hunter told Breitbart News, “She is doing her due diligence regarding the agreement and is currently undecided.”
Negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program and international economic sanctions resulted in a deal last month between Iran and the P5+1 (U.S., United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany). The U.S. Congress has 60 days to review the deal and decide its position.
Fellow San Diego Democrat Rep. Juan Vargas (D-CA) has come out strongly against the deal.
“I intend to stand up and vote against this deal. This is not a partisan issue. This is an issue of our national security, and the security of our allies and I urge my colleagues to join me in opposing this deal,” Vargas wrote in an op-ed for the San Diego Union-Tribune last week.
Davis, Vargas and Scott Peters (D-CA) detailed their parameters for an acceptable deal in a July 3 joint op-ed for the Union-Tribune.
Rep. Peters also remained undecided as of Tuesday, a spokesman told Breitbart News.
Jacquie Atkinson, who is challenging Peters in 2016, is calling on the Congressman to “show some integrity and backbone and vote against this deal.” Atkinson is a Republican and a Marine Corps combat veteran.
