Sinai Province, an Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) affiliate in Egypt, took credit for rockets launched into “occupied Palestine.” There are no reports of casualties or damage.
“There is cooperation between them in the realm of weapons smuggling and terrorist attacks,” said Israel’s intelligence minister Yisrael Katz. “The Egyptians know this, and the Saudis. At the same time, within Gaza, Isis has been flouting Hamas. But they have common cause against the Jews, in Israel or abroad.”
Before the launch, communities near the Gaza border sounded the alarms. Security officials searched and located the rockets.
“I trust the army and am certain that it will take all necessary measures to protect communities in the South, and I expect the political leadership to act decisively at all levels in order to ensure a quiet summer in Israel,” exclaimed Eshkol Regional Council head Gadi Yarkoni.
Egypt sounded the alarm against the affiliate group after they killed 50 Egyptian soldiers on July 1. The terrorists attacked numerous military checkpoints in Egypt’s North Sinai. The attack also forced Israel to close down Route 12 near their border with Egypt.
These ISIS terrorists released a video that threatened to overthrow Hamas in Gaza because the group does not do enough to wipe Israel off the map. They lectured Hamas over Islamic rule:
“We will uproot the state of the Jews (Israel) and you and Fatah (leading Palestinian political party), and all of the secularists are nothing and you will be over-run by our creeping multitudes,” one fighter said.
“The rule of sharia (Islamic law) will be implemented in Gaza, in spite of you. We swear that what is happening in the Levant today, and in particular the Yarmouk camp (near Damascus in Syria), will happen in Gaza.”
