Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a powerful address Wednesday at the beginning of Holocaust Remembrance Day at Israel’s Yad Vashem memorial in Jerusalem.
The Israeli leader delivered a blistering critique of the P5+1 world powers, who agreed to a basic framework for a nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran, while Tehran continues to openly deny the Holocaust and call for the destruction of Israel. The Ayatollah’s Islamic Republic is today’s Nazi socialists, Netanyahu said, suggesting that the Obama-led negotiating powers are “comatose” and “delusional” when it comes to understanding the threat posed by the Mullahs in Tehran.
Netanyahu began his address, stating, “Appeasement towards these regimes increases their aggressiveness. If this aggressiveness is not curbed in time, humanity may find itself in far greater wars in the future.”
He continued, comparing today’s world leadership with the pre-World War II powers, who were all too willing to appease and negotiate with Nazi Germany. “Ahead of World War II, the world attempted to appease the Nazis. They wanted quiet at any price, and the terrible price did come,” said Netanyahu.
“Never Again” has become a phrase uttered by world leaders, but without meaning, asserted the Israeli Prime Minister.
Internally, “the Iranian regime represses its people,” and externally, it “plunges the Middle East into a tide of blood and suffering,” he added.
Iran is hell-bent on obtaining nuclear weapons, while at the same time, Tehran exports “the Khomeini revolution to many lands via the massive uses of terrorism and widespread conquest in the Middle East,” said Netanyahu.
Netanyahu pledged, “Even if we are forced to stand alone, we will not falter,” adding that Israel will “ensure our right and capacity and determination to defend ourselves.”
“We will not allow the State of Israel to become a passing phase in the history of our people,” he concluded.
