Look at the Reuters headline on its story about this new BBC poll: “Few UK Muslims have sympathy for Paris attack motives, most oppose violence: poll.” “Few Muslims” support the Charlie Hebdo magazine slaughter, says the headline. Few? 27% of Muslims is hardly “few.” Over 27% — that’s not a “tiny fringe,” a “small minority,” or “just a few.” 27% is a movement.
It’s as if Reuters and the rest of the mainstream media are surprised that not all British Muslims, or the large majority, do not support killing newspaper editors, publishers, and writers in cold blood because they offended Islam.
The Guardian’s headline was even worse: “Why are we questioning the loyalty of British Muslims? We never ask anyone else.”
The real headline is the large number that does support the mass murder of journalists, writers, cartoonists, or anyone who mocks Muhammad, but all the media will talk about are the Muslims who don’t want to slaughter in defense of Islamic supremacism. Well, we expect that basic modicum of civilized behavior (at the very least). We don’t think that’s news. The 27% is the real lede.
But the media won’t talk about that 27% and the implications of that number. Consider, for a moment, 27% of the worldwide Muslim population. It’s a fantastically large number: close to 450 million Muslims who believe that writers, artists, journalists should be savagely slaughtered because their feelings were hurt. And in Britain, that’s 750,000 Muslims – 750,000 people who believe that it is right to murder others because they feel insulted or offended.
And the fact is that 27% is on the low side, because the majority of Muslims living under Islamic law in Muslim countries largely support Sharia — upwards of 90%. Where’s the press on that bombshell?
How do the delusionists in the White House, 10 Downing Street, and the hallowed halls of power across the world explain this? They will most likely default to their well-worn scapegoat – it’s all the fault of the “Islamophobes.”
Also, it is important to highlight a number of the other salient points from the BBC poll. The BBC is working hard to show how the poll reflects how peaceful Muslims are and how “Islamophobic” everyone else is. But despite the media spin, the facts are irrefutable.
32% of Muslims in Britain disagreed with the statement that such as the Charlie Hebdo jihad massacre was never justifiable, and violence against anyone who published images of Muhammad was never justifiable.
20% of British Muslims said that they considered Western liberal society incompatible with Islam. Aren’t only “Islamophobes” supposed to think such things?
49% of British Muslims believe that Muslim imams who preach that jihad violence against the West can be justified are not outside the mainstream.
Nearly 80% said were deeply offended by images of Muhammad.
The Telegraph reported that “a significant minority of Muslims endorse terrorist atrocities against those who mock the Prophet Mohammed. Some 27 per cent of British Muslims said they have ‘some sympathy for the motives behind the attacks’ on the Paris magazine, according to polling by ComRes for the BBC. A further 32 per cent said they were not surprised by the attacks. Some 11 per cent said that magazines which publish images of the Prophet Mohammed ‘deserve to be attacked.’ And only 68 per cent of British Muslims said that attacks on the publishers of images of the Prophet are ‘never’ justified, while 24 disagreed.”
