BEIJING, Aug. 7 (UPI) — Apple Inc. products were removed from a list of Chinese government procurement lists, as accusations between China and the United States over cyber-espionage continue.
Despite Apple’s sales growth throughout Asia, ten products of the California-based company are not on a list distributed by China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Finance. However, the products were included on a list released in June.
Apple iPads and MacBook Airs, among others, join Microsoft’s Windows 8 and antivirus products from Symantec and Kapersky Lab — all from U.S.-based companies that are banned from Chinese central and local government offices.
Products from Dell, Hewlett-Packard and the Chinese-based Lenovo companies continue on the procurement lists.
