A day after a UN report said the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, ordered female genital mutilation (FGM), the terrorist group told women to wear a full-face veil.
“The conditions imposed on her clothes and grooming was only to end the pretext of debauchery resulting from grooming and overdressing,” said ISIS. “This is not a restriction on her freedom but to prevent her from falling into humiliation and vulgarity or to be a theatre for the eyes of those who are looking.”
“Anyone who is not committed to this duty and is motivated by glamour will be subject to accountability and severe punishment to protect society from harm and to maintain the necessities of religion and protect it from debauchery.”
There are other restrictions. From The Telegraph:
The hands and feet must be covered. Wear shapeless clothes that don’t hug the body. No perfume.
Women have been told to never walk unaccompanied by a male guardian.
There are doubts to the UN report about the mutilation. Jacqueline Badcock, the UN’s deputy humanitarian coordinator in Iraq, said 4 million females could be potential FGM victims. ISIS denies an order ever took place, but Mosul residents and Kurdish officials back Badcock.

Mosul’s college of fine arts and physical education was closed down. Over in Syria, ISIS stoned two women to death for adultery. It was supposedly the first time that type of execution took place in Raqqa.

ISIS told Christians to convert to Islam, pay a protection tax, or die. The group cut off water to Christian and Kurd communities they do not control. ISIS has threatened to march to Baghdad and already took responsibilities for numerous car bombs in the city.
