Korean Woman Makes More Than $9,000 a Month by Eating on Camera

SEOUL, Jan. 30 (UPI) —
A South Korean woman said she makes more than $9,000 per month by eating in front of a webcam and allowing thousands to watch her.

Park Seo-Yeon, 33, who goes by online handle “the Diva,” said she starts her hours-long online meal each night at 8 p.m. and thousands of people log in to watch her devour her food, CNN reported Thursday.

Park said she makes about $9,300 each month from generous fans who donate to keep her channel running.

Park said her fans give various reasons for wanting to watch her eat.

Park said about 60 percent of her viewers are female.

Officials with Afreeca TV, which hosts Park’s evening meal video stream, said her channel is one of many “eating rooms” available on the site.
