Putin: We're Not Anti-Gay, We Love Elton John

On Sunday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that his country loved Elton John, using that fact as proof that the country was not anti-homosexual. Putin called John an “outstanding person [and] musician” and said, “Millions of our people sincerely love him despite his orientation.”

John was said that Russia’s laws regarding homosexuality are “inhumane and isolating.” Nonetheless, he has often performed in Russia.
