Sec. Kerry Heads to Geneva to Continue Iran Nuke Talks

Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to arrive in Geneva on November 23rd to join talks that appear to have Iran ready to make a deal on its nuclear program.

According to The Wall Street Journal, “Iran and world powers neared a crucial compromise Friday,” sending a strong indication that an agreement could be imminent.

The compromise is reportedly focused on Iran’s demand that it be able to continue uranium enrichment.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius arrived in Geneva early on the 23rd. Upon arriving, he told reporters he wants an agreement but not just any agreement. He said the “accord” must be “a solid deal.”

The 23rd marks the fourth consecutive day for Iran and world powers to sit and discuss these matters.

The U.S. and Europe both remain “stressed” over “gaps” in the agreement that could “stall the negotiations and rekindle fear of a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran nuclear facilities.”
