On Fox News Sunday, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) said the House would probably not vote to give President Barack Obama authorization to use military force against Syria if the vote were held today.
King said that if the “vote were today, it would probably be a no vote.” He said he intends to vote “yes” as of now and said Obama has the constitutional power to strike Syria but had “no clue what’s in his mind on this issue.”
King acknowledged it was going to be difficult to get the vote through Congress as opposition builds over the next nine days and slammed what he called the “isolationist” wing in the House.
He said he felt bad Secretary of State John Kerry had to “defend the indefensible.”
