On July 29, a total of 45 Christians in Nigeria were killed by five bombings allegedly carried out by the terrorist Islamist group Boko Haram.
Although the bombers targeted “multiple churches,” 39 Christians were killed in the attack on Christ Salvation Pentecostal Church alone.
A Fox News report cites a BosNewsLife report in which witnesses say there were four other bombings besides the one on Christ Salvation.
Local military officials linked the bombings to Boko Haram, noting the group has been “waging war in the region for the last four years.” In the past, Boko Haram has explained its violence by admitting it is trying to drive Christians from the area.
Nigerian military forces launched a major attack against Boko Haram in May, “but it failed to end the terrorist attacks.”
