Obama appointed campaign bundler Matthew Barzun to the position of U.S. Ambassador to Britain–“the most prestigious diplomatic posting in the world for a U.S. official.”
The Telegraph reports Barzun has “no connection to modern-day Britain and his main qualification for the job appears to be that he has been an effective ‘bundler’ for Barack Obama’s two successful presidential election campaigns.”
Barzun raised $2.3 million for Obama’s re-election and guided a campaign that raised “$730 million in total.”
The Telegraph reports that contrary to these choices, Britain selects, “highly experienced diplomats, usually with extensive knowledge of the countries they serve in.”
