President Barack Obama is set to send a U.S. delegation to the funeral of rabidly anti-American Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez’s funeral later this week.

According to Reuters, Senior U.S. officials said the Obama administration also “had no immediate plans to respond in kind to Venezuela’s expulsion of two U.S. military attaches” on Tuesday.

Chávez died on Tuesday of cancer.

Obama said he would like to have a “constructive relationship” with Venezuela going forward while a State Department official told Reuters the Obama administration wants a “more functional” relationship with the country that had been ruled by the leftist tyrant.
