The Senate Intelligence Committee has postponed the vote on CIA Director nominee John Brennan until next week, and it has declined to offer an explanation for the delay.

The committee’s vice chairman, Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), would only say he expects the vote to take place on Tuesday.

The Obama administration and committee Democrats have been “at odds” over drone policy and Brennan’s position on this policy, particularly as it regards the use of drones against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

Although the administration has released more information to explain this program over the last few days, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) says he is still not satisfied.

Said Wyden: “Americans have a right to know when their government thinks it has the right to kill them.”
