The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) released a video of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi delivering racist, anti-Semitic, and anti-American remarks . The incendiary rhetoric becomes relevant now that the Obama administration plans to give 200 Abrams tanks and 10 F-16 fighter jets to the Morsi government. Morsi expounded on his anti-American and anti-Zionist views in 2010, as a member of the Guidance Office of the Muslim Brotherhood. Although apologists portray President Morsi as a “moderate”, Morsi reveals himself to be an extremist ideologue and a threat to regional peace. Rather than serving as a salve to radical elements, Morsi fans the flames of hatred and terror.
As a leader within the Muslim Brotherhood, Morsi stated that the dream of making peace with Israel has “always been an illusion.” Rather than engage in further negotiations, Morsi outright encouraged economic and military actions to completely remove Jews from the entire land of “Palestine.” Note that Morsi referred not just to the disputed territories–but to the internationally recognized land of Israel! Morsi clearly stated that the Green Line is of no consequence and that the presence of the Jewish people on the land even prior to 1948 was “plunder.”
In the two transcripts provided by MEMRI, Morsi took every effort to dehumanize the Jewish people, referring to them as “bloodsuckers” and “descendants of apes and pigs.” Morsi claimed it was the obligation of Muslim people and governments across the world to “support the resistance fighters.” Even more startling was Morsi’s demand that Jewish people not only be expunged from Israel but from “any Arab or Muslim land.” In addition, Morsi demanded that Israel’s enemies unite in opposition to the United States by boycotting American business.
This video should place renewed pressure on the Obama administration to review its plans to supply the Muslim Brotherhood regime with billions of dollars worth of military equipment. Morsi has made it clear that he opposes US policy interests in the region and that he desires the extinction of the state of Israel. This man by his own admission is neither a friend of peace nor of the United States.
