U.S. Intelligence agencies say they knew the Libyan attacks were acts of terrorism within 24 hours of their occurrence, and Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) says the situation surrounding the attacks raises a lot of questions.

In fact, on the heels of the Obama administration’s admission that the attacks were terrorism nearly two weeks after the fact, Corker says “this is turning into nothing short of Benghazi-gate.”

What are Obama and Co. hiding? That’s what Corker wants to know, and he’s by no means alone.

Yesterday, Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX) said the Obama administration “misled” Congress if in fact Obama knew it was terrorism within 24 hours. Thornberry says this because during briefings on the attacks, the administration gave Congress with the same explanation that U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice put forward when she said the attacks were “not pre-planned or premeditated” on FOX NEWS Sunday Sept. 16.

Thornberry says that if Rice knew better at the time, “it means we have a real problem in not being able to face up to the national security challenges our country faces.”

Corker has gone even further than Thornberry, and says the briefings the Senate received were “worthless” and that the administration’s actions since the attack have been “very suspicious.”

Bolstering Corker’s “very suspicious” statement is the fact that as of Sept. 27, FBI agents who were sent to investigate the attacks in their immediate aftermath still hadn’t arrived on scene. This means people in the surrounding area have had over two weeks to go into the burned consulate and move things around or even take evidence, if it was in their interest to do so.

What did Obama know, and when did he know it?

There is a growing, bipartisan demand for answers to these questions.
