Carter Corrects Obama: 'Egypt Is An Ally'

Jimmy Carter sounds more confident in his assessment of our ally status with Egypt than the White House and State Department, who are currently publicly contradicting each other over the matter. (Gaffe?)

President Carter spoke to Drake University in Des Moines and was asked if he agrees with what Obama said about Egypt:

Carter: “Egypt is an ally of the US, we know Egypt well.”

President Obama had earlier stated during an interview: Obama: ‘Ya know, I don’t think that we would consider them an ally, but we do not consider them an enemy. ‘

Carter never met a group of Islamists he didn’t like. A longtime fan of Hamas And Hezbollah, it’s no surprise that Carter believes the Muslim Brotherhood-led country who demands we “protect Islam” while they crucify opponents, and rage against our embassies is an ally. 

However, many are skeptical of Egypt’s future with the Brotherhood in the driving seat. The group has made well-known its goal to develop an Islamic state dictated by Shariah Law, and many believe Morsi will oversee a slow ebbing away of religious freedoms in the nation. 

Kurt J. Werthmuller, a research fellow at the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom has previously told The Christian Post, “A Morsi presidency would give more license to the Muslim Brotherhood to institute conservative Islamist policies in the country, and this would without a doubt make life more restrictive and discriminatory toward the Coptic Christian minority.” 

After Obama said that Egypt wasn’t an ally the State Department publicly contradicted him, which speaks to the seriously high level of Napoleon Dynamite, Foreign Policy Skills demonstrated by our Commander-in-Chief.

At least the peanut farmer can give a definitive answer.
