The left has two uses for our men and women in uniform: scapegoats and props. When they’re not denigrating them, they’re using them as props in political campaigns. Sen. John Kerry, the target of swift boat ire back in 2004, attempted to portray the Democratic incumbent Barack Obama as Patton-esque because he killed Osama bin Laden … using information obtained via enhanced interrogation techniques under Bush, that Obama opposed.
Despite Democrats slamming Rudy Giuliani for running on his record as mayor because it happend to coincide with 9/11, Democrats have no problem with Obama campaigning off of the SEALs.
Kerry in his speech omitted how the Navy SEALs are furious with President Obama after he attempted to campaign off their mission in a recent ad.
Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as ‘ammunition’ for his re-election campaign. The SEALs spoke out to MailOnline after the Obama campaign released an ad entitled ‘One Chance’.
Mr Obama used a news conference today to trumpet his personal role and imply that his Republican opponent Mr Romney, who in 2008 expressed reservations about the wisdom of sending troops into Pakistan, would have let bin Laden live.
‘I said that I’d go after bin Laden if we had a clear shot at him, and I did,’ Mr Obama said. ‘If there are others who have said one thing and now suggest they’d do something else, then I’d go ahead and let them explain it.’
Really? That’s not how others tell it.
Barack Obama kept military commanders hanging by declaring he would ‘sleep on it’ before taking 16 hours to give the go-ahead to raid Bin Laden’s compound.

But the president stunned officials when he told a national security meeting that he wanted more time to think – and disappeared out of the room.’I’m not going to tell you what my decision is now – I’m going to go back and think about it some more,’ said Obama, according to the New York Times. He then added ‘I’m going to make a decision soon.’
The head of the CIA and other senior intelligence officers who were keen to proceed were left tense as they waited for the president’s decision. But the next morning after 16 hours, Obama summoned four top aides to the White House Diplomatic Room. Before they could speak, the president put his fist on the table and declared ‘It’s a go’.
And:
According to a new book, however, the President was not nearly that engaged – and was actually playing golf until 20 minutes before the operation began in earnest.

Only then did he down his clubs and return to the White House to watch what he later trumpeted as a great success of his presidency.
A very different reality from the story Democrats are presenting tonight at the DNC.
