Transparency International, which focuses on issues of corruption and bribery, is out with its latest index of which countries businessmen are most likely to use bribes overseas to garner business. They looked at 28 countries.
Least likely to offer bribes? Businessmen from The Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Germany.
Most likely to offer bribes? Russia (worst), China, and Mexico.
The United States comes in at 10, about the middle of the pack.
The organization also looked at which sector of the economy is most likely to receive bribes in return for business. Surprise, surprise! The worst sector is “public works contracts” by a long shot.
