In a recent interview on The Rick Amato Show, I spoke to David Rubin. the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel and President of Shiloh Israel Children Fund. Mr. Rubin founded the organization to help children of terrorist attacks adapt to life again, both physically and spiritually. Both he and his three year old son were victims of terrorism. Luckily, both survived. As a result of the horrific assault, he became motivated to help the most innocent victims of terrorism.
In my August 5th interview with Rubin, he told me of the recent revelation that Prime Minister Netanyahu would bend to President Obama’s desire for the return of the pre 1967 lands in Israel back to the Palestinian Authority. Fearful of the consequences that such a decision would have on the people of Israel, he contacted The Rick Amato Show.
As we spoke, David Rubin told me the shocking news that was carried in The Jerusalem Post. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu would negogiate for a mutual swap of lands. A condition of the negotiation would be that the Palestinian Authority would drop it’s demand for state recognition from the United Nations in September.
Needless to say, this is a very precarious situation for Israel. She faces an enormous amount of animosity from neighboring Palestine. The notion that the size of Israel will be cut in half and returned to an area that was controlled by terrorists is unthinkable to me. How can we alllow this to happen? I think we all want the good people living in the Palestinian Authority to have a safe and happy life, but to place Israel in such a dire situation is insane. As Mr. Netanyahu said in his speech befor Congress this past May. These areas are indefensible. This is madness. The Jewish people living in the settlements that fall into the pre border areas will either be forced from their homes or killed. Israel, weakened by the geographic and demographic change could possibly be destroyed.
Later after the interview, I spoke to former Congressional candidate and decorated war hero, Nick Popaditch. Being on the front lines of battle, he understood the ramifications such a move by Israel would have. Nick told me this would put half of the population of Israel within mortar range. A colossal mistake, but also said he did not think that this would really come to fruition. Netanyahu would not really allow this to happen. This was just possibly diplomacy?
Is this just hype? Does the Prime Minister of Israel really intend to jepordize the citizens of The Holy Land? Is statehood for Palestine a reality?
What I do know for sure, is that Israel, unlike other Middle Eastern nations is a democracy that respects women and human life . Israel is our friend and ally. We must do what we can to protect her.
God bless America and Israel.
