What Is The ATF doing?

Operation Fast and Furious was supposed to catch gun smugglers trying to ship weapons into Mexico, guess someone forgot to tell the agents they weren’t suppose to actually let the weapons get into Mexico. A vast amount of US weapons have been able to pass through the border, arming cartels with an awesome array of firepower. So again, what is going on at the ATF?
