Was The Death Of Fatima Abdallah An Honor Killing?

The Florida chapter of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI)/Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) is holding a Rally for Justice for Fatima Abdallah at 2:00 PM on June 10, 2011 at Lykes Gaslight Park in front of Tampa Police Headquarters. SIOA’s Pamela Geller, who has made it her mission to expose the creeping Shari’ah that is occurring in the United States by opposing the proposed Ground Zero Mosque and offering assistance to women who want to escape from violent misogynistic Islamic marriages, will deliver a press release asking that this case, which the Tampa Police Department ruled was a suicide, be reopened to conduct an investigation into whether Fatima’s death was actually an Islamic honor killing.

On August 16, 2009, the Tampa Police Department responded to a 911 call from the family of Fatima Abdallah and upon reaching the residence, found Fatima on the floor with severe facial bruising, swelling and bloodied. The story relayed to the investigators was that she had gotten into an argument with her mother and she proceeded to beat her own head against a coffee table, got up, and continued to beat her face and head on the floor until she stood up again, and fell down backward. There was a two and a half hour time lapse between the incident and when the family called 911.

David Caton, of Florida Family Association, has spearheaded an investigation into this case. Caton hired an independent investigator, Prestige Investigations, Inc. and, based on the information obtained by Prestige and the conflicting reports from the various investigators on this case, believes that the death of Fatima Abdallah was not in fact a suicide but rather an honor killing. If this was truly an honor killing that was ignored by the Tampa Police Department, this is an issue that should be of grave concern to all of us in Tampa Bay and the entire United States. It has already been documented that Shari’ah compliant mortgage financing has been occurring across the country for over ten years, and Shari’ah has been deferred to in a court case in Hillsborough County, Florida.
