Separated at birth?

I’ve had a sneaking suspicion that the Obama White House would ultimately nix the release of Dead Bin Laden, and here it comes, the prepatory rumblings: Gates and Hillary, ABC’s Jake Tapper reports (via Drudge) are arguing against release. This tagteam pushback, Tapper writes with soothing gentility, is due to “concerns at the Pentagon and State Department that releasing a photograph could prompt a backlash against the US for killing bin Laden where one does not seem to currently exist.”

Hmm. Now where would that be? Manhattan? Madrid? Bali? Tel Aviv? Nah. We’re talking Umma Central. Our leadership is quaking in their boots (pumps) over the prospect that the sight of dead Bin Laden would set off billions of Hair-Trigger Moderates in a frenzy of murder and mayhem in the growing tradition of Terry Jones rage, Fitna rage, Pope Rage, Teddy Bear Rage, Kommode-Koran Rage … and of course, Danish Cartoon Rage. While there are differences between a political cartoon and a news photo, the vital point of comparison is that if indeed the OBL death photo is not released, both Bomb-Head Mohammed and Bullet-Head Osama will have been deemed “offensive” to Muslims and therefore forbidden to all. This is a textbook example of dhimmitude, the condition of non-Muslims under the influence, de jure or de facto, of Islamic law.

Shame.
