A U.S. Congressman has now intervened in an US Air Force investigation into a dangerously low fly over at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa. The four-jet formation was at just 176 ft., far below the 1,000 ft. required minimum. The jets cleared the scoreboard….by 58 feet. Congressman Leonard Boswell says Major Christopher Kopacek, who led the fly over, acted appropriately. The explanation that Kopacek has offered is that he flew too low because he was trying to “avoid other air traffic.” According to Air Force records, Kopacek had been previously written up for poor leadership, performance and instruction.
