Accused drug trafficker Walid Makled, a.k.a The King of Kingpins, is currently being held by Colombian authorities and is apparently singing like a canary about the deep connections between Hugo Chavez’s military generals, Hezbollah, and the narco-trade in Venezuela. The U.S. wants him extradited. However, restoring our credibility as a good ally to Colombia may largely depend on our ability to move forward on a free trade agreement.
