Today on Frank Gaffney’s Secure Freedom Radio, Frank notes the both glaring and saddening contrast between Obama’s support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt now and his silent apathy toward truly democratic counter-revolutionaries in Iran 2009. But it isn’t really a contradiction is it? The Iranian Regime, which enforces totalitarian Shariah law, was given political legitimacy by the American administration when pro democratic forces rose up in peaceful protest against fraudulent elections and human rights abuses on the world stage. The ‘open hand of engagement’ and the palpable silence for almost two weeks before a written statement of mild criticism certainly gave the political cover for the Ayatollah’s abuses. Now, Egyptians have risen up against their oppressors and the well organized Muslim Brotherhood, who make no secret in Arabic about their intentions to impose Iranian Ayatollah style Shariah law on the world, will find the same political support and comfort from the American administration.
