Open Thread: Nobel Peace Prize, This Year and Last Year…

This year, the award goes to Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, who is in prison. The Nobel committee chairman placed the Nobel award on a empty chair. Mr. Liu asked that the prize be dedicated to “the lost souls from 4th of June,” i.e. those who died during the 1989 massacre at Tiananmen Square.

Last year the award went to someone less deserving….
