Will the practical demands of war nudge the Obama administration toward a warfighting posture? In light of last weekend’s Yemeni based attempted Al Qaeda bombing plot, the tension between legal and military approaches to fighting terrorism has been thrust back into the national discourse. It seems, increasingly, that the reality of fighting an asymmetrical war against militant totalitarian Islamists is forcing the administration to abandon its pseudo-philosophical basis for overemphasizing their once strictly legal and politically correct approach.

Those on the practical and tactical side of fighting terrorists continue to seem heartened by the administration’s new found war footing. But will it last? Old habits die hard and no one knows this struggle better than former U.S. Attorney, Andy McCarthy, who prosecuted the 1993 World Trade Center bomber Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman. Today on Frank Gaffney’s Secure Freedom Radio, Andy breaks it down on his regular Tuesday appearance on the show.
