TEL AVIV — The Hamas terror group on Tuesday released a video claiming that it had thwarted Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system when a barrage of some 700 rockets was launched from Gaza last month, killing three Israelis.
“We found a way to defeat the Iron Dome,” Hamas declared.
“The pace of launches was the fastest in our history, 700 rockets in 30 hours,” the terror group boasted. “Eighty-five rockets were fired at Ashkelon, 80 to Ashdod, 60 to Beersheba — all carrying large warheads.”
“We employed a tactic of massive launches toward a single target to overcome Iron Dome,” Hamas claimed. “The heaviest fire was used after [Israel] hit high-rise buildings.”
In a concluding threat, Hamas said: “We have more surprises up our sleeve.”
On Tuesday, Israel re-extended the fishing zone off the coast of Gaza, even though incendiary explosive devices continue to be launched over the border into Israel every few minutes.
Last week, Israel limited the fishing zone in response to the arson attacks.
At least four large fires were ignited by incendiary balloons Tuesday.
