Haaretz reported: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening due to a high fever and a cough.  His personal physician, Dr. Zvi Herman Berkowitz, said he suspected Netanyahu hadn’t gotten the rest he needed to recover from his illness two weeks ago, and therefore, his symptoms had worsened.

The newspaper further reported:

Aides who spoke with him at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Hospital Tuesday evening said there was no need to appoint a replacement for him. “Don’t go overboard,” one said. “It’s business as usual at this stage.”

He arrived at Hadassah with symptoms of an infection in his upper respiratory tract and was undergoing initial tests Tuesday evening. He was driven there in an ordinary car rather than an ambulance.

UPDATE: The Israeli Government Press Office emailed the following statement to reporters, relating that Netanyahu was sent home after a series of tests indicating a minor upper respiratory infection:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening (Tuesday, 27 March 2018), underwent a series of tests at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where he was treated by staff physicians Dr. Alon Hershko, Prof. Alon Moses and Dr. Asher Salmon. The Prime Minister – who went to the hospital due to a high fever and cough – was also accompanied by his personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Berkovitz.

Prime Minister Netanyahu finished the series of tests and was discharged and sent home. The tests indicated a minor viral infection of his upper respiratory tract. The doctors recommended rest and medication.
