The Times of Israel reports: An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in an attempted car-ramming attack in the Jordan Valley on Friday, the army said.

The incident took place near the entrance of the Qasr al-Yahud baptismal holy site near Jericho. The vehicle did not have the necessary permit to enter the site and did not stop when soldiers flagged it down, an army spokeswoman said.

Security forces detained the driver for questioning and the lightly injured soldier was treated at the scene of the incident.
