Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas launched an antisemitic tirade Wednesday at an Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conference in Istanbul, Turkey, that was convened to discuss the issue of Jerusalem.
Abbas’s remarks were ignored by virtually every mainstream media news outlet, who faithfully reported that he rebuked President Donald Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and rejected a further U.S. role in peace negotiations in the future.
However, the Palestinian leader’s direct attack on Jews was caught on video.
He said (emphasis added, and video below, via Israellycool):
As women and men, we believe in our right, and the promise of Allah almighty, that this sacred city of hours, since it was established by the Canaanite people more than 5,000 years ago, it has been and it will be the capital of our state, our sovereign state of Palestine.
By the way, I don’t want to discuss religion or history because they [Jews] are really excellent in faking and counterfeiting history. But if we read the Torah it says that the Canaanites were there before the time of our prophet Abraham and their [Canaanite] existence continued since that time, this is in the Torah itself. But if they [Jews] would like to fake this history, they are really masters in this, and it is mentioned in the holy Koran that they fabricate truth and they try to do that, and they believe in that, but we have been there in this location for thousands of years. And our right will ever remain there.
Abbas is not new to claiming that Jews fake history. In his Ph.D. dissertation for Moscow Oriental College, which was published in 1983, Abbas argued that the number of Holocaust victims had been exaggerated, and that it was possibly below one million rather than six million. He also denied that Nazis used gas chambers to kill Jews, among other bizarre claims commonly found on neo-Nazi websites. He only walked back some of these views in 2014.
