TEL AVIV – All Saudi Arabia’s actions end up benefiting Israel, the speaker of the Iranian Parliament on Tuesday told a visiting group of ambassadors from Muslim nations in Tehran.
“The dependence of some Muslim countries on Israel is catastrophic and a stain of shame, while the Muslim Ummah (global community) should be sensitive to the fate of Palestine,” Ali Larijani said, according to the regime’s network PressTV.
“Eventually, all Saudi moves are in favor of Israel,” he added.
Larijani claimed Iran had secret documents showing that the Saudis provided Israel with intelligence during the 2006 war on Lebanon. He did not produce the documents.
“We have tried hard to make the Saudis understand that their measures are to the detriment of the Muslim Ummah, but they only make harsher remarks every day,” Larijani said. He also warned Muslim states “not to be trapped in a bigger plot.”
Larijani, who in the past served as chief negotiator with the P5+1 over Iran’s nuclear program as well as as secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, is a staunch Islamist. At the Munich Security Conference in 2009, Larijani expressed his denial of the Holocaust and praised the Iranian regime for being brave enough to come forward with “different perspectives.”
On Tuesday Breitbart Jerusalem reported that a senior Iranian official, Sheikh Hussein al-Islam, hinted at Israel and Saudi Arabia’s alleged support for the Islamic State. Al-Islam declared that Sunday’s strike on Syria also served as a “warning message” to Israel which should have “reason to worry.”
“We are targeting terrorists only, and the countries that support them must know what it means when we use these missiles,” he added.
