WATCH: London Jewish Museum Launches Appeal to Fund Amy Winehouse Trail

London’s Jewish Museum has launched a public appeal for funds to help finance a street art trail taking in Amy Winehouse’s former haunts in the capital. Organizers aim to raise around £17,000 this month for the memorial trek dedicated to the late singer.

If funding is secured, the trail could be set up next year alongside the commissioned artwork at the museum created by street artist Pegasus. The museum has taken to social media to drive the fundraiser:

Put Amy’s Camden on the map with a street art takeover! Help us mark the return of our Amy Winehouse exhibition and celebrate the area she called home with a newly commissioned street art trail and installation in the museum by @pegasusart. We need your help to make this project happen and are fundraising for the project through the Art Fund’s crowdfunding platform Art Happens. Together we can celebrate Amy Winehouse and the Camden she loved. Donors will receive rewards including tote bags, art studio visits and tickets to a Winehouse-inspired exhibition.

Artists including Captain Kris, Mr Cenz and Philth will contribute to the trail. The museum’s 2013 Amy Winehouse Exhibition is touring the world and is due to return to London in spring.

Pegasus created a Fallen Angel image of Winehouse with union flag wings shortly after her death in 2011.

Abigail Morris, director of the Jewish Museum London, said: “We are excited about launching our first ever crowdfunding campaign, bringing people together to remember Amy Winehouse in the area she called home. We aim to create a fitting legacy, embracing the creative spirit of Camden.”
