TEL AVIV – The Israeli Air Force early on Saturday morning launched strikes against targets belonging to terror groups in the Gaza Strip hours after Palestinian terrorist in Gaza fired a rocket into the Jewish state aimed at Israeli civilian population zones.
The rocket reportedly struck the outside of an early childhood development center in the city of Sderot, located about 1 mile from Gaza. Nearby buildings were also damaged but there were no reports of injuries. Israel’s Channel 2 reported several Sderot residents were treated for shock.
“We hold Hamas responsible,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a statemet. “Hamas, [as a governing body], will be held responsible for all that occur within its borders.”
