Palestinian UN Envoy Compares Israel to Nazi Germany

TEL AVIV – The Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations on Wednesday drew parallels between Israel’s “labeling” of Palestinian terrorists and Nazi Germany’s similar designation of the fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.

Riyad Mansour (pictured) held a press conference in which he told reporters that Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, is trying to paint “all the Palestinian people who have legitimate rights to resist the occupation in legitimate ways” as terrorists.

“Guess what?” he added. “All colonizers, all occupiers, including those who suppressed the Warsaw [Ghetto] uprising, labeled those who were resisting them as terrorists.”

Earlier this week, Mansour and Danon became embroiled in a shouting match at a meeting of the UN Security Council when the latter demanded that Mansour condemn Palestinian terrorism against Israelis.

The Israeli envoy responded to Mansour’s comments on Wednesday, arguing that “any comparison between the Nazi regime and the democratic State of Israel is despicable and must be condemned by the international community.”

The UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of Palestinian People, which was held on Wednesday, accused Israel of detaining innocent minors.

Danon, who had accompanied the husband and daughter of terror victim Dafna Meir, 38, to the UN, responded to this charge also.

“When we arrested the 16-year-old who killed Dafna Meir, an innocent mother of six, we treated him like the terrorist that he is – a murderer who belongs in prison for life,” he said.

“The Palestinians are continuing to lie to the world and turn to the international community with ridiculous claims instead of focusing their efforts on fighting terror and incitement,” Danon said.

In January, a Palestinian teenager forced his way into Dafna Meir’s home and stabbed her to death in front of her children.

The Palestinian ambassador has in the past claimed that Israel harvests the organs of Palestinian terrorists before returning the bodies to the Palestinian Authority.
