JERUSALEM – Israel is “forcing” young Palestinians to murder Israelis, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement tweeted on Sunday, according to a translation by Palestinian Media Watch.
“Leave our land, you, your occupation, and your soldiers, and let us live in peace,” the tweet on the movement’s official Twitter account read.
“Israel is forcing young Palestinians to follow this path to Jerusalem,” the tweet said, referring to the accompanying image of a knife framing a view of the Dome of the Rock in the Old City of Jerusalem, the site of many of the stabbing attacks of the past six months.
Fatah’s Twitter account and its Facebook page have consistently engaged in incitement over the past several months, including posts praising the terrorist attack committed by Nashat Milhem, an Israeli Arab who went on a killing spree in Tel Aviv on New Year’s Day and murdered three Israelis.
Most posts contain an image of a knife, with some also using the image of a key, a symbol representing the homes in Israel that Palestinians claim were stolen from them by Jews.
Earlier this month, Fatah praised the murder of American tourist and U.S. Army veteran Taylor Force in a Jaffa terror attack by posting a sketch of a hand gripping a knife over a map of Israel and the Palestinian territories with the Arabic text “heroic martyr” written along the arm.
In interviews, Abbas denies that his party incites young Palestinians to carry out attacks, claiming that any violent actions carried out by Palestinians were undertaken in “self-defense.”
In one instance, less than a week after Palestinian terrorists murdered four Israeli civilians, Abbas said on official PA television: “The Palestinian side did not attack and did not do anything against the Israelis. … We have to protect our holy sites.”
On Monday, Breitbart Jerusalem reported that PA spokesman Adnan Al-Damiri claimed that Israel was behind the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels, following similar claims made last week that the U.S. and Europe bear responsibility for global terror.
